Can you believe it’s finally March? If you’re anything like us the fact that this month is the month that Spring officially starts is something you’re really happy about! Of course, today would be cold and miserable wouldn’t it- but we’re in March, so we’re hoping that the horrible weather will soon be far behind us! So, let’s take a look at how to enjoy Spring and feel great because 2022 has to be all about looking after ourselves.
Make The Most of The Better Weather
Although there is often something nice about a brisk winter walk, for many people it is the better weather that is preferable when it comes to getting out and about. The weather can be quite sporadic at the time of year so the trick is to grab the better days while you can. If you’re not feeling 100% it can be easy to put off a walk until tomorrow, but during March the weather is so interchangeable that tomorrow might simply not be sunny enough. Try to do what you can to make the most of the better weather, even if that’s only just enjoying an afternoon cup of tea in the sunshine in your own back garden – you’ll notice a massive diference.

Tackle The Practical Stuff
It is really easy for people to say that you should get out and about, have a bath and do a face mask to feel better but realistically that isn’t going to fix everything. If you have any serious issues that you have been putting off then no amount of self-care is going to take away that worry. It can be scary but do your best to tackle the issues you’re facing head-on to get them off of your list. For example, sort out a budget or contact any debtors if you’re worried about money or speak to your manager if you have something worrying you at work. Often the thought of talking about these because one of the bigger worries, as you build up the issue in your head however once you open that door to getting the practical stuff under control things, become much easier.
See Friends
It is easy to use winter as an excuse to stay indoors, hibernate and not see people too often – however, now that the weather is getting better why not turn that around and start to see people more often? It doesn’t have to be a big extravagant event – a walk in the park with a friend, or inviting them around your house for a drink and a bite to eat in the garden are great steps to take.
Don’t See Friends
On the flip side of this, we often feel obligated to say yes to everything we are invited to and everything that is asked of us. With all the best will in the world, it simply isn’t possible to do it all. So, if you are feeling overwhelmed and like you do genuinely need a day in the house then don’t be afraid to say no. It can be a nice touch to rearrange if possible but explain to friends how you are feeling and that you just need a day at home, they will understand.
Communicate
If you are struggling with not feeling yourself or any sort of mental health then often the last thing you want to do is talk things through, but honestly, it does make all the difference. Speak t your friends about how you are feeling and try to pluck up the courage to tell your employer the support you need to feel more content at work. It is also important to reach out to professional mental health services if you need them. Suffering from mental health is serious and not something that you should deal with alone, or that you should have to put up with. There are services out there designed to help you through this; sp make sure that you research these and reach out to the organisation that feels right for you when it comes to getting the help you need, and deserve.
