Feed Their Curiosity
You can stimulate your child’s curiosity by taking them on field trips where they get to see more of the world and experience new things. If your child’s a science nerd, you can take them to a space centre where they can experience space on earth and learn more about the solar system. It’ll give them the opportunity to question experts and encourage them to go and do their own research.
Ask Questions
To get their cogs turning you should make asking questions a habit. It’ll show how you are keen to learn more and get them to research and feedback to you. In the process, they’ll expand on their knowledge and develop a positive attitude towards learning.
Bake Together
You can get your child to explore their curiosity through experiments like baking projects as they wonder what will happen. They can develop their own theories and put them to the test.
Read Together
Reading opens the doors to independent learning. By helping your child with their reading, you can give them the fundamental skills that they need to exercise their curiosity to the fullest. You can do this by having story time where you both listen to each other read so that they can grow their vocabulary and get into the habit of reading.
Answer Questions Honestly
It’s okay to be caught off guard and not have the answer, in which case you can suggest that you look for the answer together. Lying or making up answers can lead to confusion and create issues around trust when they learn the truth later down the line.
