3 Things To Do To Make January More Cheerful

Whether you’re a fan of winter or not, January can sometimes feel pretty glum. In fact, many people refer to next Monday as Blue Monday – the first proper Monday back to work after the new year, a few weeks away from payday and miserable weather helps to give today its infamous title. Here are some things to do to make January more cheerful.

Have a Declutter

Decluttering might not sound like the most exciting idea ever, but actually, you’re likely to feel much better when you have done it. We’re all guilty of stashing things away to a later date, having bits and pieces that we;’ll never use and probably a chair piled high with washing that needs to be put away. This messiness and disorganisation can lead to you feeling a bit fed up, which is why having a declutter and getting all of this under control is a great idea.

See a Friend

It can be tempting to hide away in the warm when the weather is cold but seeing friends is good for the soul. Even if you don’t feel like being out and about in the cold, why not invite a friend over for dinner or see if they just want to pop in for a cup of tea? Remember that if you are feeling up this January that you certainly aren’t the only person that will be feeling like that so many of your friends will be really glad you reached out to them. You could even look at meeting new people and making new friends!

Visit Somewhere New

If you are feeling like you want to get out and about, why not visit somewhere new? See if anywhere has vouchers for discounted entry or see what free places are near you that could be worth a visit. This time of year places are often quiet so it’s a good way to see somewhere new without the hustle and bustle of lots of people;
