Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to spoil your loved one and get together for some time that is dedicated to just you two. However, if social media is to be believed then celebrating Valentine’s Day should be an all-out affair with the obligation to spend loads of money doing so. Although this can be a nice gesture if you can afford it, it isn’t necessary – instead here are some affordable Valentine’s Day date ideas.
Movie Night
Movie night in the comfort of your own home is a really love way to spend time together, especially if you both agree to put your phones away and enjoy each others company for a few hours. Put on your comfy clothes, get loads of blankets on the sofa and a pile of your favourite snacks and you’re pretty much good to go. Why not have both of you choose a movie, so that you both get to watch something you enjoy – and the amount of time you get to spend snuggled up in a blanket together is doubled.
Picnic
If the weather is on your side then a picnic and a walk in the woods or countryside is a really nice way to spend time – don’t be put off if the weather is bad though, you can wrap up warm! Alternatively, you could have a picnic at home – get the blanket spread out on the carpet, all of your favourite foods and even some cushions for comfort and you’re all set for a few hours of Valentine’s Day fun.
Games Night
Get out the board games, get some snacks and have a night playing games together – or if you’re into it then computer games work just as well. The idea is to shut off from the rest of the world and spend your Valentine’s Day concentrating on having a good time in each others company.
