When you’re a grownup, you can definitely look back with eyes of experience and see where you went wrong. Knowing what choices you would have made differently can be really frustrating – especially when you see younger people making the same mistakes as you did. It can be tough to see people making mistakes, even though you have done the same and learned the lessons. However, it is true that people have to learn from their own mistakes. But, what do we wish we knew as kids?
Everyone is Winging It
Sometimes, it can feel like you are the only person who hasn’t got it all together. Social media definitely contributes towards this feeling – it probably feels like everyone is a blogger or internet influencer. However, one lesson to learn is that absolutely everyone is winging. Every single person has walked down the street with one of the socks that have fallen down within their shoe, and they’re acting as nothing has happened. I promise you, it’s true. No one has all of their stuff together, everyone has bad days and the life you see people portraying is rarely accurate, you never know what goes on behind closed doors.

School Is So Important
I bet teenagers up and down the country sign collectively at the phrase “school is important”. When you’re at school it seems like a massive chore to have to go there every single day and sit through numerous lessons. You feel like you’re being taught a whole host of pointless things and you want to be anywhere else but there. And then you leave, you’re considered a grown-up and you would do anything to be back there! There is so much to be learned from school but a majority of us won’t appreciate this until after we have left.
Choose Your Friends Wisely
There are definitely people in life that want to be your friend for the wrong reasons. Whether they want your money, your popularity or simply don’t have your best intentions at heart. KICK THEM TO THE CURB! It is so easy to assume the people you have in your life are the best, but often they’re not. There are so many good people out there, don’t delay finding them by spending too much time concentrating on the wrong people! Don’t have people in your life that cause you stress!
Even things like looking after our health, taking care of our eyes and wearing comfortable shoes are all great life lessons to be teaching our kids!
What do you wish we knew as kids?
