Whether you’re planning a weekend away or a longer holiday South Devon is one of those UK holiday destinations that ticks all of the boxes. Whether you’re looking for sandy beaches, family fun or wild nights out you’ll be able to find it in this stunning part of the world. We’ve recently been researching some of the best campsites South Devon has to offer and wanted to share with you what we’ve found!
We’re not members of either of the two main caravan clubs in the UK as we haven’t bought our own caravan – yet! However, it’s on our dream list and something that we would love to make happen. We’ve spent a huge amount of hours on places like the news section of the Bailey of Bristol website to see what the latest caravan news is. We’ve also browsed loads of caravans via their virtual showroom – which ‘includes 360-degree interior tours to give you a detailed look at all of their current ranges; which has been so helpful in helping us to decide which caravan(s) might suit us. You can also do this with their motorhomes as they have a Virtual Showroom available for these too. Whether or not we own our very own caravan by next year, we’ll be having a camping trip to Devon, and we’ve found that their campsites offer a fantastic range of things to do and great facilities.

Family Friendly, Family Run Campsites
One of the best things we have noticed when looking at South Devon campsites is just how family friendly they are – we’d love to take away some younger family members and our pooch so this is something that suits us perfectly. Campsites are great places for getting the whole family involved. There’s a lot that children can do around the campsite to help out, including fetching water, helping to do the cooking and washing up, and visiting the site shop for bread and milk As you might imagine this whole area is surrounded by Devon countryside and natural beauty, so campsites also give everyone the opportunity to explore all of this. Play parks, wood areas and even places to swim when the weather is warmer are all things you’d expect to see within reach of the best campsites that South Devon has to offer.
Great Locations
We’re undecided exactly where in South Devon we’d like to stay when we visit as there is so much to see and do throughout the whole area. We’d love to visit a local zoo, Dartmoor National Park and some of the stunning beaches in South Devon we have heard so much about – in fact, a campsite within walking distance of a nice coastal walk would be perfect for us. The great thing about campsites in South Devon is that they are located in various places, so wherever you’re looking to stay and whatever you’re looking to see while you’re there – there will be the perfect campsite location for you and your family. Just make sure you pack all the essentials you’re going to need and even things like a torch which you might not but will be pretty essential if the time comes that you do!
